“I've owned these for 2-3 yrs now ( I don't wear them much ) - but I took them to Japan with some Asics - These were far more comfortable walk around Japan, and you walk alot in Japan. “First off, I am a HUGE Olukai fan. I have owned many sandals and many shoes as well. They have all been like walking in butter. Just wonderful to my feet!
These are an exception to my experience. They seem to run narrow and short compared to other Olukai shoes I’ve purchased. I know I have the right size as I purchased them from a family run shoe company who helped me to purchase the right size. The cuff of the shoe/chukka is stiff and does not feel good against my ankle. My outer toes seem to be resting right up against the lateral shoe wall and footbed. I purchased these thinking they would relax quickly like most Olukai shoes I’ve purchased. I think I made a mistake in this purchase. I wish I had just purchased another pair of Maloa’s or Ohana lace up nubuck’s . I’m glad the other 2 reviews find the Hamakua favorable. Wish I did.”
“Book leaks! Its not an all weather boot as it says. These boots stink really bad because they are not water proof. Total waste of money. I am not sure why you would make a boot that does not have a waterproof sole. They stink so bad when they get moisture that my fellow employees are telling me to throw them away. I have had them maybe 2 months.”
