“This is my second pair of OluKai shoes. First pair are fine, I am happy with the quality. Second Pair not so much. I purchased a pair of Mākia Ulana Kai. First, the insole is ribbed. I found that very uncomfortable. The first pair I purchased did not have a ribbed insole. Maybe for some it is fine but for me it was annoying. In addition, these are no tie shoes. I knew that when I purchased them. I like no tie shoes. I have a pair from another manufacturer.
After wearing for several days in a row they stretched out a bit, not a problem it happens but you cannot adjust the laces. Some other shoe makers that offer no tie shoes have a plastic slack adjuster type of devise on the laces that allows for some adjustment. This would have been helpful and make the shoe wearable for me.
I contacted the Company and expressed my concerns. They responded quickly and offered a half off coupon on my next pair of shoes. The offer was appreciated but it did not solve the problem. I really would prefer not to add another pair of shoes to the landfill. I purchased new insoles and modified the laces. If this works out I will continue to use them. If not I will try to donate them to someone who could put them to use.
I should note that I like the styling of the shoe, just wish it was a little more wearer friendly.”
