“Upena sandals are almost like walking barefoot. So comfortable and barely there. Perfect for dress up or kicking back. The bottoms are definitely nonskid. I wear heavier, wider, more protective sandals for hiking in tamer areas. The arch support is there for arches that are not high instep arches. The sandals are not slip on; must be buckled each time. I find it easier and fastest to pull my foot to my side to buckle maybe because the leather is still new. I will be getting a black pair as well. I saw Olukai at my local outdoor must haves shop, THE HIKE SHACK. They didn’t have my size; ordered my Upena online. Excellent service, packaging, easy ordering, timely delivery.”
“When I first got these shoes, I saw how big the hole was for the big toe and thought someone has to have a really big toe for it not to fit. Well that's me, my toe is too big for it to fit comfortably. It was too tight for my big toe so I sadly had to return them. Otherwise I would've kept them.”
