“Got this coat in green to wear while horseback riding. I love the fit and the color is stunning! I wish the internal zipper pocket was deeper as I can barely get my phone in it. I had been using my son’s Ororo coat but it didn’t have zip pockets for my cell which is what lead me to buy this coat. Riding in the deep wooded country, I need my phone on me for satellite gps tracking. The photo on this site is a bit deceiving as it appears a phone will fit easily. It fits but it’s tight and won’t be easy to get in and out as needed on horseback.
The quality was a bit lacking from what I’ve come to expect from ororo. Some of the hem stitching was a bit crooked and it was shipped in a package bag for clothing. While this seems logical, there are some strange markings on the fabric of the coat that we think could be from heavier objects put on top, akin to pressure rubs on the green exterior fabric. That makes me concerned that internal wiring could have been negatively impacted during shipping. Took photos in hopes to be able to attach them but it doesn’t appear I can do that. The coat functions as it should and I pray it continues to do so. While there are several of these ‘pressure’ marks at various places on the coat, they are not enough to make me exchange the jacket as it’s cold and I need the heat now. Aside, everything gets dirty on horseback. I’m hopeful that maybe the marks will come out with the first wash. Ororo should have packaged it in a box to protect the wiring from damage during shipping.
I’d like there to have been more Velcro for the hood. There’s only one Velcro piece in the middle (and one on each side) that gets pulled on. It would also make sense to have zipper pockets under the flaps in the chest. I had thought there were zippers there but alas, nope; just an extra flap. For a jacket that appears to be somewhat marketed for equestrians, more zipper pockets would be appreciated.
It’ll keep me warm and dry (I hope) for years to come, or until Ororo makes another improved jacket for equestrian’s. Brighter and more color options to increase visibility of riders would be greatly appreciated, especially during fall hunting season. Reflective edging would be an added bonus!”
