“I really need/wanted a warm coat with lots of pockets for when I go birdwatching in cold weather. This coat comes so close to being great: big pockets, plentiful pockets, heated, waterproof. Cord locks on the hood are great, and I love the handwarmer pockets behind the front patch pockets. I like that the faux fur trim is removable. BUT for a $319 coat, the pockets should be heated and the handwarmer pockets should have that really thin fleece in them. Afterall, hands get the coldest the fastest when you're outside for long amounts of time. Also, the fabulous big, gusseted pockets in the front are tacked down at the top. Ugh! It makes it very hard to get things in and out quickly (namely my phone, which I use to keep track of birds while birding), which defeats part of the purpose of them. The zipper is just plain weird and difficult. It should start at the very bottom, rather than 4 or 5 inches up (where I'm the widest), AND it just doesn't lock normally at the bottom which makes it very difficult get zipped. It wiggles and is very annoying. On it's own it is not as warm as my down coat, and the back of my arms felt cold in 30ish degree weather, with and without the heat on. It IS truly waterproof, I was dry as a cracker after walking around in the rain for 1/2 hour. So this coat is SO close to being great, I hope Ororo does a redesign. But they should let me field test it before final production! Really, I'd be happy to do that!”
