The first thing every prepared camper thinks of before bush bashing through the outback is how much fresh water theyll need to survive. No journey is possible without it. This Tuff Terrain poly footwell water tank holds a whopping 40 litres and fits snuggly into the footwell of the rear passenger section. This Tuff Terrain 40L plastic water container is more than enough storage for two people taking on extreme 4wd adventures. Made from durable polyethylene plastic, with a recess to suit most modern 4WDs and high quality 1/2"" BSP brass outlets, this footwell water tank is bound to make life on the road that much easier. Product features: Dimensions: 1200mm wide x 190mm high (30mm for cap) & 250mm Deep. The transmission tunnel recess is 420mm wide at the base tapering to 200mm wide at top of recess and is 110mm high. The cut-out for centre consoles is 200mm wide and 60mm deep. Two Brass outlets are fitted (one at each end) and uses 1/2"" BSPT (12mm) thread to allow normal hardware plumbing fittings to be used for custom hose or pump kits. Important Fitment Note: Please note: We advise that all water tank installations should only be done by a qualified person and it is the responsibility of this person to ensure correct installation and fitment.

About Outback Equipment:

Outback Equipment was born from a couple of mates with a big idea and an even bigger love for the outdoors. What started in the back of a garage quickly moved to a warehouse corner and now, over 10 years later, we’re running our own full-scale warehouse and showroom storefront in Acacia Ridge, Brisbane.

We kicked off with a fascination for light bars, but it didn’t take long to realise there was a lot more gear to get excited about. Outback Equipment has since grown into one of the largest online ranges of 4x4, camping, marine, and caravanning accessories in Australia. Driven by our customers’ passion for exploring the great outdoors, we’ve expanded our space, our range, and our mission.

Whether you're planning a weekend beach trip or the big lap around Oz, getting prepped can feel like a mission. We're here to make it simple. From expert guides and part finders to trusted advice and helpful customer service, we’re your starting point for any off-grid adventure.

We only stock gear we’d use ourselves. From brands like Aussie Traveller, MSA, CampBoss, BLA, Hardkorr, Superior Engineering, Tuff Terrain and Outback Explorer. With over 250 brands on our shelves and growing, we’re proud to support fellow adventurers at every stage of their journey.

We’re 100% Aussie-owned and operated, with our Brisbane showroom open 6 days a week. Swing by Acacia Ridge Monday to Friday (8am–5pm) or Saturday (8am–1pm), or call us on 1300 854 185 to chat about your next trip.

A really neat fit in the 80 series footwell. The recess for a transmission tunnel is not required on an 80 but the space is used to hold 400 amp jumper leads (only needed for welding as have a jump start pack). This recess also provides a baffle to reduce slopping around & weight transfer on corners. I have used pulldown straps through buckles attached to the seat mounts to hold in place. The small gap, under the straps and between the tank and the rear seat makes a neat place to keep the sand flag, umbrella & even a squid pole (HF radio antenna). Over the past few weeks whilst modifying my fit-out, I have sat, stood on & generally given the tank a bit of a hard time, it is built tough.

it was a perfect fit and used unused space so was never in the way I hooked a line to each side to drain the tank , we used it primarily for drinking water

Great idea to store extra drinking water. There was no plastic taste and kept the water fresh. The only disappointing part was I had to purchase the 2 taps and hose for the outlets.

Fantastic product that saves space and enables you to take all the water you need with you. Only problem is, no taps, hoses or the like comes with or is available as optional extras, so a trip to Bunnings will be necessary before you go camping.

We have only just fitted this to our sons 4wd, the thing that is good with this product is it can be removed with ease, so if not needed it can just go in the shed. It will be put to the test this week end.

This water tank is 40 Lt - as a footwell tank the weight is now in the centre of the vehicle and low Centre of gravity - perfect to give the right balance - Safety comes first - strong enough to put other items on top - access points from both sides - well worth the price -
