I haven't used this yet below 35 degrees or so and I am not sure it would be enough for really frigid temps but I think it would be fine with a thin headband underneath. But so far it has been great between 35-45 degrees on my commute to work. It also seems to dry quickly on the couple occasions where it has been warm enough that I've started sweating during the ride, it was nice and dry for the commute home after a ride to work that got warm. It is comfortably tight so that it keeps the wind off my ears but not so tight that it makes a really deep line on my forehead or gives me a headache like some caps I've had that are a little too tight.

I'll probably use this for under a warm beanie on extra cold days.

Warm but not bulky. I'd definitely recommend it.

Yesterday I decided to complete my Strava November Gran Fondo (100 km). With the temperature ranging from the mid-30s to low 40s I decided it would be a great chance to put my new to the test (Note: I also wore my new Pactimo Alpine Thermal RT Bib Tights & Pactimo Wool Base Layer). The thermal cap felt light on the head and under my helmet. It kept me at the right temperature and was comfortable throughout the ride. The only reason I didn't give 5-stars was that the ear covers seemed to expose the bottom of my ear lobes a bit so I found myself adjusting them a couple times during the ride. In comparison, I have another skull cap which I do not have to adjust. That said my other skull cap is more bulky and tighter fitting on the head. Overall I am very happy with this purchase and expect this to be my primary winter cap.

I am normally wear a skull cap in cool weather or balaclava when temperatures get really cold. I have never used a cap before and wanted something to wear when temps were cold but not too cold which need the neck and face protection a balaclava provides. This Alpine Thermal Cap fits the bill! Great head and ear coverage! The cap bill when turned down over your sunglasses helps protect your eyes from the sun on early morning or late afternoon rides when riding into the sun. The bill also keeps most of the cold air from streaming across your eyes which helps prevent eye watering. It stayed in place on the ears well.

Very comfortable. Light and breathable but warm. I need the brim for protection from the sun. It helps in bad weather too. Great stuff.

I wore the cap this morning in 34 degree weather. It kept my head warm! The only problem I had was that the cap kept riding up leaving my ears exposed to the cold. This was unfortunate because I bought the cap specifically to keep my ears warm. Therefore I'm deducting 1 star because of the poor fit.

Just when you think you've covered all the sensitive bits, you realize your ears are freezing. This cap does the trip. It's not too thick to make wearing my helmet awkward but thick enough to do the job.
