“The paper is a good weight with a nice finish. The finish of the outer is also good quality. The book itself is a quality product. However, despite being in a gift box and well packaged, mine arrived with a dent in the bottom edge of the front cover, as if it had been dropped during production.
I chose grey for the book cover and to have one of the photographs printed onto the front. it looks like this grey cover paper was not well-suited to being printed on as the colours looked washed out, lacking the contrast and saturation of the original photos. Perhaps it is best to choose neutral colours if wanting to print a photo.
The photographs that I submitted for printing inside the book had been mastered with high contrast and with colours adjusted to have a 1970s film feel. I think that the printing process is set to modify exposure and colours to typical values as most had a dusty washed-out look to them, similar to when you try to recover shadow and highlight detail. Perhaps their printing process works well for everyday photographs but I do not recommend it for anything more demanding.
I think this product is trying to fill a gap between the more professional books that are twice the price and the mass-produced versions that are half the price. Perhaps it can do so, providing you have everyday pictures submitted as-shot.”
