“I have a black Labrador - aged 4 - who is overly loving of other people, and quite intimidated/scared of small dogs (not large dogs at all). We tried out this collar over several days of walking around the local parks, and while our dog was showing fewer signs of fear around the smaller dogs we encountered, she would still back away if they came too close. I think that - if used consistently over a longer period (and, possibly, introduced earlier in life when these behaviours first presented themselves) it could be an effective product. “While it did seem to chill my kelpie out a bit, she was still reactive to thunder and kept trying to run out into the rain, which renders the product unusable (it states on it do not get wet) It may be because she is a rescue who didnt get to spend much time with her mother?

“The Adaptil calm collar claims to provide dogs reassurance, is clinically proven, veterinary used and recommended and provides up to 4 weeks of constant support. I was eager to try this on my dog to see if there would be any noticeable difference in his behaviour when being outdoors. He can be somewhat anxious when there are other big dogs around that can cause him to react. The collar and its instructions on the box were very easy to follow. Just need to pop the collar on around my dogs neck and adjust to fit then cut off the excess- simple! Now it was a waiting game. For those saying it didnt work, i was skeptical but knew it may take a few days or weeks for it to really show as he got used to it and the warm of his skin activated the collar to release that synthetic copy of a dogs pheromone. As expected, i didnt notice any real changes in the first few days as we went about our normal routine. The only time the collar was removed was for baths. However, as time went on, and we went outdoors for our usual walks, spotting big dogs along the way, he would somewhat get anxious as he always does, but with a slight improvement and was easier to calm and manage. I think given the right circumstances, you can definitely notice an improvement. I wouldnt say it completely eliminates their fears/stress but it definitely helps manages it! Depending on your expectation of this product. I personally thought there was improvement overall and hopefully aid in changing his behaviour long term with continued use. “I was excited to try this out on my furry friend. Hes always been somewhat anxious around people visiting and its just gotten worse over the years now having kids around. Hes become much more protective which makes it hard for us to have visitors. The collar itself comes with very easy instructions to follow. It lasts about 4 weeks and you just unwind and attach to his neck - cutting off any extra length if its too long. The product itself claims to provide reassurance to my dog in stressful situations. In the first few days of wearing, i cant say i really noticed a difference. Just a little over a week though, i started noticing slight changes that he was becoming a lot more calmer around people and was able to get comforted a lot quicker than usual. I like that this product is so easy to use and would hopefully like to see more options in the future where it can last longer than a month but so far, i can see slight improvements in his temperament and i look forward to seeing how much improvement i can get in the coming weeks.
