Harris Bed Bug Mattress Encasement Cover, Queen Reviews

2.3 Rating 3 Reviews
I would give this product 1 or 2 stars because the seams are very poor quality, ripping or not even sewn up, especially near the zipper. The thread is very thin, the kind used to sew clothes, which is not meant for the rough handling of trying to stuff a heavy mattress into an encasement. It's also single stitched, when it should be reinforced by double stitching. The fabric seems good, very tight weave. The reason I give a better rating then the product deserves is that the customer service is amazing. It's the reason I would trying buying other products from this company. Pat from customer service is one of the BEST customer service people I have ever encountered. She helped me order, get a discount, helped me with my complaint of the poor quality and got me a full refund of the product. I cannot rate the other products since I haven't tried them, but the company seems honest and they really do care about giving the best service possible, even when things don't work out. I will definetly give them another chance, 5 stars for customer service.

Just put the encasements (covers) on two beds, total of 3 mattresses - used a different companies cover on one mattress because I forgot to order 4 from PF Harris (ordered 3 - and it had a one day delivery as opposed to the 7 days it took to get the order from PF Harris. We wanted to get the covers on asap. We sprayed and put 3 on the instant PF Harris covers arrived. I purchased from PF Harris because I thought they were the experts for home, self treatment, bug control. Time will tell how theirs compars to the other companies covers. I gave a 3 star for the PF Harris cover for 3 reasons: a seam about 2 inches long came apart with loose thread hanging out, the other cover has a terry cloth top on the cover which made it comfortable to lay on (PF Harris had a slippery top and my mattress keeps sliding out of place), and both were the same price. PF Harris does have velcro all around the zipper (other brand does not) which may be a good deterrent. I wish that was mentioned that testing shows that makes a difference in blocking bed bugs. The seam problem was noticed after we gently and carefully put on the cover. I don't think we caused the tear. One suggestion for PF Harris - enlarge the length of your zipper. The other companies zipper was larger which made it much easier to put on the cover compared to a shorter length with PF Harris product - unless it is less effective. Maybe PF Harris can respond.. We sprayed the top mattress and box springs following application instructions per PF Harris and immediately put on the covers. We noticed small blood spots on the box spring wood frame. We removed the cloth cover on the bottom of the box spring to access the wood which they like. It has been over a week and to date no bug bites. Note: initially we only noticed one bed bug in guest bedroom room - no dark coloring on any mattresses - so we did not have a "noticable " infestation. Three days later I was bitten. They traveled 20 feet to my bedroom. After speaking with numerous insect control persons it appears if you have a significant infestation that both heat and spray ate the only way to treat. Bed bugs will retreat from the heat (130-140 degrees) into the walls - they can burrow and escape into the opening behind electrical wall plug plates. When also using the spray when they come back out they cross the "spray barrier " and die.
