With continued use of Phyla, you are slowly adding good bacteria to your face so that it will, one day, be naturally occurring on your skin. This is the same bacteria that is killing the acne on your skin. Most report seeing significantly less breakouts in the 2-4 month range. Keep it up!

“I used proactive for over 20 years. Since I was in middle school. Nothing else worked for me. I do think proactive works, but it was always very hard on my skin. My skin would be irritated sometimes, and sensitive to the sun. It would dry out easier in the winter. Lotions would break me out so I would have to be careful using them.
Phyla works. Well. Better than proactive. It started to work after a month of use. And it just got better every month. They tell you to use it for 6 months, and that was about at the point when it was at the peak. After that I've noticed slight improvements, but basically after 6 months my acne was completely cured. Maybe there's 5% left, and if I do have one acne bump, it's usually much smaller and heals much faster.
I was not paid or given any coupon or anything else for this. I don't usually leave reviews. Phyla works.
I used the serum (lotion in rectangular dark green bottle) in the morning and evening. You can basically use as much as you want. It won't last as long as 60 days if you use it in the morning in the evening, but it also speeds up the process. Be liberal with it.
Now that my skin is balanced, I use it once a day. Sometimes I forget to use it, it's not like proactive, if you forget it will still work, because the microbiome of your skin is balanced (with less of an acne causing bacteria).
I also use alba botanica face wash. And rose petals toner from Thayer's. In the afternoon, especially in the beginning, I used CeraVe retinol. Retinol helps the skin cells turn over faster. You will break out worse for a few weeks with retinol, so if you are using some antibiotic like proactive, use it morning and night, and wash your face frequently then moisturize. Just while you are starting retinol. After a few weeks stop any antibiotic or benzoyl peroxide (because it wipes the bacteria and messes with the microbiome on your face). Then start liberal use of the serum.
You don't need retinol, but it helped me. It speeds up the process.
You don't really need the moisturizer, this stuff just doesn't dry your face. If you have extremely dry skin at base, you may need a little moisturizer. Their moisturizer is the best I've ever used.”
We are so glad you were able to ditch the harsh products and use ingredients that are designed for sensitive skin! It sounds like you have been able to recalibrate your microbiome to where your skin is not so dependent on products to keep your breakouts at bay.
