“My first impression of the Backbone was the top notch fit and build quality. The software integration also adds to the overall feeling that this is just thoroughly designed and executed. I wish that for the price, the 3 months of Xbox Game Pass would have been able to be redeemed onto an existing sub instead of just a first-time trial. I know that is not Backbone's fault, but it certainly would have added to the value. I also would like to be able to use a reasonably thin case at the same time. This really only works with naked phones, which isn't a big deal, but it does mean you have to keep up with an empty case while you play if you aren't willing to go fully phone nudist. Those minor gripes aside, the Backbone feels great, especially on games that run locally. You can really tell how crisp and responsive the buttons are, and it puts any bluetooth controller to shame. The benefit is also there for streaming games, like the co-promoted Game Pass games, but the stream lag makes it hit or miss.”

“The handles could be longer, because they aren’t it isn’t exactly comfortable for a duration of time. I don’t like the way the back piece sits on the camera, but I am using a larger phone. Though if it can hold the phone it shouldn’t rub on the camera. With this improvements I think it would be perfect and the concept is pretty neat.”
