“There are 3 waterless urinals at my church. I became the church janitor last year. The previous janitor faithfully replaced the cartridges every 6 months because they started to smell. What he did not realize is that the packet of Blue Seal, the blue liquid that comes with a new cartridge, gets diluted over time and no longer can provide an effective odor barrier. You need to add another 3 oz (90 ml) of Blue Seal into the cartridge. This liquid floats on top and provides that barrier. You can buy a 1 qt bottle of this product.These cartridges are rated at 7000 uses. Each urinal at church has about 1000 uses annually. I replace every 5 years. You only need to replace them when they become slow to drain.”
