“My new HVAC system has the AprilAire filter 410/413. From the start, I was impressed by the lack of dust in the house and odor removal. My old system had a U/V light with electrostatic filters. It never seemed to work very well. The AprilAire filters are 4" Heppa, MERV 13 and come compressed like an accordian. Easy to install and it will last 12 months with average use. In my take, the cost of these filters is justified by their performance.”
“The filter is generally fine and it is what we always use. We obtain a new one every year.However the packaging is torn at both ends and one end exposes the filter entirely so anything in the del. truck or plane (during transport) could essentially contaminate the filter. However it is not a sterile item so this probably isn't too important. The outer box for this filter is made of very cheap cardboard. The company should look into providing a sturdy shipping box. I've become accustomed to a torn box but the one today is quite bad.”
