“I've been buying these OEM filters for my whole-house air cleaner since it was installed in 2017, and they work very well. But WOW, the prices got jacked since the last time I bought them last year. Ouch. Might be time to try aftermarket.”
“I was hoping this would last me 12 months but that turned out to be optimistic. By month 5, I could hear a humming sound in my walls, the most annoying being the wall next to the head of the bed. Took me a while to figure out it was my brand-new HVAC system vibrating. The cause? A dirty AprilAire filter making the system work hard to push air through it. I took the filter out, looking fuzzy and grey, and replaced it with a brand new one and the hum went away.My HVAC maintenance guy just replaced my filter that was just under 4 months old because he said it looked like it needed a change. After a year, I think I now know I need to change this filter about every 4 months (3 times a year). Not quite the cost savings I was hoping for but it's doing its job. Small house, 3 people, 2 pets=dust and hair.I recommend this filter but don't expect it to give you 12 months, or even 6. And I vacuum often and run a portable air filter inside the house.”
“I agree with other reviewers. This is the third time ordering this filter and every time the box came damaged and open. The filter appears OK but seemed a bit short. I had to stretch it to fit. Not sure if this is a defect or if the material shrunk from improper packaging.I noticed that plumbingsupplyandmore has same filter for same price. Will try them next time.”
“This is the second time I purchased the filter via plumbingsupplyandmore. The filter is excellent…no complaints. Each time, however, the flimsy box was delivered with the end tab bad badly torn and exposing the filter to rain, dirt, etc. Kind of defeats the purpose of getting an air filter!!”
