“Wish I had this check valve on my line when I replaced my pump 10 years ago. It truly is quiet. There is no thump (or any sudden noise) when the flow stops and the valve shuts. All we hear now is the expected rush of water when the pump starts, and the trickle when the water below the valve retreats into the crock (this is not valve leakage). The clear body is nicer than expected. You get a good view of the valve working when the water flows and what settles above the valve when the flow stops. Seeing the brown water is gross, but the view will be helpful for troubleshooting later. Installation tip: A pair of oil filter strap wrenches worked well for tightening the large union connections - the straps do not mar the PVC.”
