Programmable Touchscreen Thermostat, 3H/2C Reviews

4.7 Rating 239 Reviews
I bought this thermostat because I wanted to control humidity independently of temperature in our mostly vacant guest house. Being in Florida with the long hot humid summers, this is working very well for me. Most thermostats I had checked out, including the Trane (made also by Honeywell I believe) that we have in our home, would try to reduce humidity by dropping the cooling temp set point by up to 3 degrees. The Honeywell TH8321WF1001 Wifi Vision Pro 8000 has a feature called "dehumidification away mode". I have mine set at cool: 90 deg., low cool limit: 75 deg., humidity 60%. The a/c runs to keep humidity =

This model uses an outdoor sensor that I use to control lock out of heat pump and bring on fossil fuel back-up at a reasonable price.

Installed about 2 weeks, wifi is a nice feature. Easy to program. The only thing I set a temp and it has a memory as to how long it will take to reach desired temp.

Installed very easily. I'm using this with a single furnace single AC system. This can control multiple but seems complex. I went with this over the lower models because it already had wifi and did't require the Honeywell gateway to connect to the internet. Once you register the system online with Honeywell, you can then download the app or control the thermostat from a web browser. Very easy to control. Hopefully it will work with the home automation system that I choose in the near future. The only downfall is that if you want remote sensors in bedrooms or other levels of the house, you have to run wiring. No wireless indoor sensors are available. Also, there is only one remote sensor input which means that all of the sensors have to be tied together. You cannot measure the the temp of each remote sensor separately. The indoor sensors are just small resistors and have to be wired together very specifically to accurately tell the average temperature of the combined rooms. Depending on the amount of sensors you have, you may have to wire them in series, parallel, or a combination of both. It can be very confusing if you do not have a background in circuits. So, because the thermostat doesn't have multiple sensor inputs, you could possibly have an issue if you have a sensor in a cold room and a sensor in a warm room. The thermostat will average them and think those rooms are fine. You are then stuck with adjusting the room's dampening vents by how the room feels instead of accurate temperature readings. I bought three sensors, because I had three bedrooms upstairs, and decided to return one after reading how difficult it was going to be to run wiring between the sensors to make sure they are both in parallel and in series. Check out the wiring diagrams on the manual http://siglercommercial.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/HONEYWELL_REMOTE_SENSOR_C7189_INSTALL.pdf I decided to install two sensors and will adjust the air vents based on feel for each room. It should do the same thing and keep the rooms very comfortable, just more manual effort. For this reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5. Give us a total of three remote sensor inputs, as most people have three bedrooms or three separate zones they want to monitor, and it is easily a 5 star thermostat.

My customers love the easy programming features, the "TOTAL-CONNECT" WEBSITE & PHONE APP FROM HONEYWELL (for remote access) and of course the 5-year factory warranty.

Works great and connects to the internet via WiFi for weather information. I like that I can lock out the compressor/electric heat at certain temperatures.
