Programmable Touchscreen Thermostat, 3H/2C Reviews

When I started looking into getting solar panels for my home the companies were offering the Nest thermostat but being the nerdy guy I am I wanted to do some research. I'm glad that I did because my home had a feature that is not compatible with a Nest. When my home was built the builder included a network of 4 Honeywell remote temperature sensors to average the temperature within the whole house so that you get a more accurate read of the internal temperature instead of just getting the temperature at the thermostat.Since the builder include the non-WiFi version of this thermostat the install was a breeze. After installing and connecting to the internet it downloaded a firmware update, set the time and date, and then started downloading weather data. I set up the app on my phone and I have to admit that it is awesome to control the temperature in the house from my phone. All of the features make this an awesome buy and truly more of a value than the offer of a free Nest in my case. But even if you don't have the remote sensors the thermostat alone is still a good value and costs less than a Nest.

Installation for this homeowner was routine. Thermostat requires a C wire and as I was renovating, it was easy to run the 3rd wire. WiFi install was easy.

We use them to control heating and cooling on our campus. We have 32 units that have to be controlled. This thermostat is doing a great job for us.

This thermostat is absolutely fantastic. A word about the installation though. ALWAYS put in passwords where asked and keep them in a safe place. If you don't, it will take a licensed contractor to recover pages to make changes.I have used these units in a facility that gets intermittent use throughout the week, at different times each day from week to week. This device allows me to program each week so that the facility is ready for any group using it. It also ensures that the system is off after the close of the day. But, if someone or group comes in on an "unscheduled" activity, they can still adjust the room temperature, and not have to worry about turning it off since I have set the end of the day trip to do that. Currently I am using multiple units to control systems throughout that facility to do this.
