Tankless Water Heater, Residential, Electric, 11 kw Reviews

My Rheem tankless water tank finally kicked the bucket after over 15 years. This was very easy to install. Works great for my 2 person household. I can do the dishes and run the washing machine at the same time which is an improvement over my old Rheem. Highly recommend this brand!

I used the chart to select the proper water heater for my needs and power limitations (60 amps 220 volts)I have included a copy from the Rheem RTEX - 11 install manual and a copy from plumbingsupplyandmore compare chart which has wrong information. I luckily did not install the wiring prior to receiving unit and going through installation manual with states unit requirers 60 amp breaker and #6 wire not 50 amp as shown in the 2nd chart. I did purchase wrong breaker size but can exchange.Note: when open box unit well sealed and packaged but the inner bag was full of water droplets not sure if they actually test units but no sign of water on outside of box.I Will submit more info after install using in a small building for RV park for 1 shower and 1 sink washer/dryer setup. Each unit has 50 amp for RV and 60 for utility building maybe pushing the limit, have now go ahead and try.

Well worth the cost. Removed tank water heater for this tankless. Could have gone with the 3 element one but went with the 4. Installation took a full day (atleast for me). Now I dont have to worry about the kids using up all the hot water. Love being able to adjust the temp easily. Used during "winter" here in north FL when temps were in the 30's and 40's and didnt notice any drop in temp. This unit requires 200 amp service and 4- 40 amp breakers. I do not recommend an average DIYer to do this, someone in a skilled trade should have no problem with install and making install look nice.

It comes with adapters but they leak. I tried several kinds of Teflon tape including 535 thread sealant an still leaked. It also came with compression fitting for 1/2 copper. Be sure to use two wrenches to tighten the compression fitting. I cut some short pieces of copper pipe and went to pex pipe with shark bite coupling. No more leaks. Works great.

I bought this unit because are hot water tank was over 50 feet from the kitchen and one of our bath rooms and it took for ever to get hot water to that end of the house. I did the installation my self. The water hook ups were easy. I used Pex flush valves that I got at plumbingsupplyandmore and had no problems. The thermostat on the unit goes to 140 degrees but I have it set at 125 and that is hot enough for us. I am very happy with this unit. We have plenty of hot water for the kitchen and bath room and we don't have to wait for ever like we use to.
