Programmable Thermostat, 2H/1C Heat Pump, 1H/1C Conventional, T4 Pro Reviews

4.3 Rating 155 Reviews
I was initially frustrated by the thermostat that was installed by our new HVAC system, and its "adaptive intelligent recovery" mode that was turning my heat on at 5:30 AM. The comments here that it could not be turned off were very frustrating. Fortunately, it turns out it can be disabled, but it's buried in many layers of settings that are not intuitive to find. The installation manual, rather than the user manual, is where the more complicated programming is explained.

This is a great thermostat once you turn off adaptive intelligent recovery (recovery mode). On my Honeywell T4 thermostat you turn off recovery mode by going into the installer setup. Then change the setting to 0. Keep clicking select after that until you get to "done" and hit select.

Thanks for the reviews posted. I set my schedule and for no reason, the heater came on an hour early and woke me up sweating. Turns out the thermostat has intelligent adaptive recovery. It anticipates how long it takes to get to the new temp and turns on early. Ugh. So you can turn this on and off if you know the procedure. The manual you need is the “installation manual”.

Just got this thermostat with my A/C install and absolutely love it. I love that the screen isn't some shouting, bright blue color. It's actually a really clear, and relaxing color to look at when the display screen is lit up. The up and down buttons are super easy to lower or raise the temperature. It was very fast in bringing down the temperature too! I haven't tried doing any programming, but it does exactly what I need it to do. It cools my house easily and fast.

I use this product in a rental where I can lock out the tenant on settings for too low for a AC unit...

Very small font - we have to use a magnifier to see what is on the front.

Using this for 2 years on my main heating zone and like it. I have it set for different temps for weekdays vs weekends (5-2), and a couple degrees cooler at night. It has learned to bring the boiler on about a half hour before returning to my higher morning temp. When we go away for a longer period like a vacation, it's easy to set it to hold a lower permanent temp.
