“I was looking just for the pressure relief valve and found it with Plumbing Supply. Once I placed it into the cart I was glad they recommended I check the Hy-Vent valve. I ordered it too as the old one was 17+ years old. This part arrived in a nicely labeled box and packaged well. It was located under a pipe and I had to remove the insulation first. Then I was able to access the nipple adapter with a pipe wrench. Again, having multiple sized pipe wrenches helped and using PB Penetrating Blaster was very helpful. I should mention that the boiler system was off and all thermostats off and the ball valve that supplies water was also placed in the off position. Thus, no pressure or hot water possible to harm one during the process. This was the same with the pressure valve replacement too. Once the new Hy-Vent valve is in place just loosen the cap about 1 full turn so air can come out. They placed mine in a bad spot to regularly be able to pull up stem, but hopefully yours is not blocked as much as mine.”
