“I saw another review saying it leaked between the p-trap and the attached tube because it doesn't have a rubber compression washer. Maybe that was an old design, but one of the washers they provide goes on the tip of that tube to seal it.I needed a trap adapter, so appreciated that it was included. Those are an extra $6-$10 to buy by themselves.”
“This kitchen trap is good quality, the seals provided are better than what typically comes with P Traps. The threads have a much tighter grip and the joints fit tightly. I noticed the listing stated that it was reversible. I would assume they are referring to rotating the trap, where the deep portion now faces the drain. With modern deep sinks the old drain is often too high on the wall to work with a trap installed as per standards. With most PVC P traps reversing the trap would either lead to it falling apart if it gets bumped, or a leak. The fittings on this trap along with the seals do appear it would hold well if placed this way, just in the event you are in this position. Of course you have other options that require more work, such as lowering the existing drain or making your own trap PVC trap and using a fernco rubber metal shielded union to mount it at the wall to allow for future service. If you wanted to avoid the extra work this p trap would be a great option and if you are using it as a standard install, don't hesitate it is a high quality product. With modern appliances such as deep sinks it is not uncommon to overlook the current drain height on the wall.”
“Worked just as one would expect a P-Trap to work. However, it did have a rubber seal between he trap and extension piece instead of the normal plastic to plastic design which is quite often hard to stop from leaking.”
“I am an electrician who relies on a plumber for most of my plumbing needs, but with this product I was able to get two birds stoned at once. I taught my plumber that these exist, and proved to him that it worked. He still made me drink some of my beer with him, but he has since purchased one of these to keep on his van. Cheers!”
