“This OEM replacement fixed my 7 year old, leaking shower faucet. The directions were easy to follow and fortunately the old cartridge came out fairly easily. The new cartridge comes with enough grease for installation, so there's no need to buy a separate container. The optional Danco core puller (86712) made things a little easier, but it probably wasn't absolutely necessary in my situation. It is a nice design though and would be great to have for a more stubborn cartridge.”
“Pulling old cartridge was tough but not this product problem. It was easy to insert new one after removing deposits with wire brush. However water continued to drip even after replacement but much slower (a drop per minute). So I removed the cartridge again and replaced the three O-rings with new (I had spare) ones. This was unnecessary.Still same leaking - no change in dripping. I gave up as it was already an hour I kept the water supply was shut-off to whole house.Surprisingly water dripping stopped overnight. It has been 3 days of regular use of faucet, no more dripping.I have done cartridge replacement in my house before but this never happened. I should have waited little longer. At the end goal achieved with little stress.”
“First I bought the generic replacement. It lasted 6 months. So I bought the OEM cartridge with the ‚Äúlifetime‚Äù warranty (that is now only a year on cartridges) and it lasted 3 years and 3 months. Do I now have to expect to do this job every three years? When I was young we used to have to replace the 2 cent packing in the shower valves every 10 years and the 10 cent washers every 20. What happened?”
“Worked well, but it was missing the retaining clip. I opted to comb through the trash for the old one rather than returning this and ordering a replacement. I didn't want to go another day without a shower. Irritating to say the least considering I opted to pay a premium for the original Moen part.”
“This was just what I needed. It was extremely hard to remove the original cartridge. In the process, the original cartridge broke in half. I had to cut and scrap to finally get the other half out. Putting this in was a little hard, but in the end I got it to work. Overall this is just the right product for my leaky bath tub.”
“Works OK, but in the box the small plastic bag which suppose to have some oil to use on the cartridge rubber before installation, had no oil at all. The plastic bag was sealed but no oil inside.”
