“Stick with brand name original manufacturing replacement for shower valves, don't skimp out on buying defective, off branded replacements. Removal tool a necessity for those old valves that are seized up. Don't over torque the removal tool, use small back and forth motions with some channel locks until stem releases and can be pulled straight out. This may be the last time you replace a shower valve stem, designed to last a lifetime!”
“I would NOT have been able to get the old Cartridge out without the included little plastic helper piece.Just put it on and with channel locks or vice grips, try to rock it back/forth in place. I kept doing that then pulled while going back/forth a tad. It took a hot minute but I got it! Grateful for that piece & avoided spending $15 at plumbingsupplyandmore for a metal puller. No leaks with the new Cartridge!”
“When the shower no longer produced a mix of cold and hot water I was afraid that I was going to have to pay for a plumber. I looked online and learned what the problem was and what part I needed. Et voila, plumbingsupplyandmore carries Moen parts for great priced and I had the perfect part the following day. With the help of YouTube, I repaired the shower myself.”
“I had a faucet that was dripping. I ordered this replacement cartridge to make the repair. Getting the old cartridge out was a nightmare. The stem broke off and tried getting it out with a new tool that was designed for that problem but that also did not work because the plastic parts started cracking and breaking. Ended up chiseling the old cartridge out in pieces. Be careful if you have to do this to not damage the valve body. Hardest cartridge to remove I ever had to replace, After getting the old one out, installing tbe new cartridge was easy and everything works great. No more dripping!”
