“I’m sorry but I’ve been experimenting with 3 coffee providers and using espresso or stove top grinds and still do not get a good result. Either horrible flavour or only drips through. I think this may be because there’s a lack of good instruction on how to buy ground coffee. “Buy coffee ground for reusable capsules” is not sufficient as an instruction.”
“I was hoping for less mess than with a normal machine but no luck. Also I can’t get my coffee strong enough, even using 2 pods . Waste of a lot of money for me I’m afraid.”

Cons:
- It does not work! I experimented the capsules changing the important variables: coffee ground fineness, tamping firmness (including the coffee ground Podstar kindly sent me with my package), and even coffee machine (tried 2 machines just to make sure there is no issue my machine, both machines were in the list of machines recommenced by Podstar). In none of the variations, I got a coffee remotely close to a medium quality single-use capsule. The coffee I got was watery, under-extracted and weak. These didn't get fixed by packing firmer or stopping the machine halfway through the extraction or even way sooner. Perhaps only the first few drops are coffee worthy the rest is water. The crema is ok if that's a big deal for you.
- The return policy only accepts damaged products and doesn't include change of mind etc. I was happy to blame my setting and barista skills for the low-quality coffee, return the product and move on but that's not an option and unfortunately, I didn't read the return policy before buying the product, my bad.
- The product is overpriced for what it delivers. With the current price, I would only accept a good quality coffee, at least something comparable to quality single-use capsules out there.
Pros:
- Quality product in terms of sturdiness, the accuracy of machining, and material.
- Good service. I appreciate the little sample ground coffee coming with the package.
