“The spanner was a little oversized for my immersion heater. There is no mention of different sizes so I presume it was a bit big for any immersion heater. It was much thicker and heavier than the DIY store spanner, but it was not thick enough to make it easy to hold the loose fit spanner in the correct position. However, as suggested, hitting this spanner with a clout hammer did shift the hitherto unshiftable immersion without tearing the tank. The value was being able to get the stubborn immersion heater out to replace it.”
