“We have had issues with this car seat as our child's head was flopping forward when he fell asleep in it. The car seat is very upright when used in our VW Golf with the isofix. His head was flopping so far forward that we were concerned for his safety. Our son is 9months old (average size) therefore he is too big to use the newborn insert, but too small to hold his head upright when sleeping. We have contacted the manufacturers and they have offered to send out a different insert to the one supplied. It comes with a detachable wedge which is supposed to make the baby sit less upright and is for the age range 9months - 15months. If you are considering purchasing this car seat I would suggest contacting Joie upon purchase and request they send one of these inserts out. I am hoping this will resolve the issue, but I am unsure why it is not included originally when sold. Upon checking online many people have the same issue.”

“After much deliberation on buying the next size car seat I chose the I-anchor due to the fact my daughter can stay rear facing for longer. It was easy to fit into the car and feels much sturdier than my previous newborn car seat. I'm finding it a bit tricky to move the seat into the different positions with baby in the seat though I think it's because it's new and I need to get used to it, however. Don't really have any need to move it at the moment from position 1. I have noticed that my daughters head does till forward sometimes when she falls asleep do it would be good if it reclined a bit further but then other times she's absolutely fine and her head stays back within the headrest. Overall really happy with the design and fit. I only wish I'd known about it from birth as wouldn't have needed another car seat, though practically having a seat part of the travel system pram is useful for transferring baby from car to pram without waking. Probably struggle doing this with the i anchor”

“I love this car seat, it is so well padded. My baby is clearly much more comfortable as she goes to sleep so quickly now. When asleep she does sometimes roll forwards, which I have read in other reviews, so I would be reluctant to put a newborn in, but my 10 month old can easily right herself. The seat is very sturdy, easily reclines, with strong, solid buttons which don't look like they will ever break. We found it was amazing value for money in the offer we had of a free base with seat, at full price though the maxi cosi pearl 2 way is a great contender, but not nearly as padded. It did well on which? Safety tests and has a great addition to be able to install with seat belt as well as isofix, we use both to make it even more solid.”

“Build quality is very good and our baby girl is happy sitting in the seat. However the tilt of the seat is quite limited. Would have liked the seat to tilt further back than it does. 7 Tilt settings from upright, to sitting back a bit! At the price we paid it is very good value for money, but at full price I think there are better seats out there.”
