Having got the ball rolling in 1905, things really start to pick up pace four years later with City's FA Cup Final against Manchester United. The 3-1 win over Watford that secured the Division Three title in 1923 also features, along with the club's clashes with local rivals, Bristol Rovers most notably the 4-0 and 5-3 wins in '47 and 56, respectively. All the promotions and relegations are here, too. While in more recent terms, the book also covers through reprints of original newspaper reports the club's efforts to regain top-flight status, including their narrow defeat at the hands of Hull City in the 2008 Championship play-off final.
