Very interesting talk although it does seem that most of the document relates to common sense on the part of a competent surveyor. Good speaker and good ability to answer questions.

I have been enjoying all of the seminars even though I am based in Australia. Buildings, particularly traditional buildings have always interested me and I have over the years worked on a number of Historic buildings both in NZ and Australia. Anything to do with controlling/ managing moisture or waterproofing in buildings is a fascinating subject. Too often people can be in either one of two camps and maybe don't understand that there is a balance to be had between the two subjects. The joint statement provides a pathway for investigation. I think it was James that said during the seminar that a lot of what the joint statement suggests is what good inspectors do in any case. For me, it reinforces what I already try and do and provides a few more excellent ideas to pick up. I have also used this with some of the more junior members of my team and find the information the PCA provides to be frankly invaluable, cheers and thanks for allowing me to be a part of it all.

I have learned a lot from the webinars that I have been able to see, I like that the others are available to me to view whenever I have the time to see them. My initial thoughts on the joint statement are that it should encourage building surveyors to seek more knowledge in respect investigating moisture in buildings, which will benefit us all.

I thought James gave a great delivery of the webinar, as it flowed pretty well, I think he's found his niche, as a speaker, as it can't be easy, but he's a natural. The content was very informative and relevant to the subject, although, I think most of the members follow this mantra and have done it over the past decade or two. On the practical side, it now seems that we will all be singing from the same hymn sheet, with regards to the various bodies involved. Regards George.
