Thank you for your feedback Marcia. We are sorry to hear that you did not find the board that you received to your liking. Since we use 100% natural wood we can’t guarantee how the grain of the wood will affect the product. Due to the nature of wood products, the actual shade and color of our engraving may vary slightly from lighter to darker. Just as with all wood boards we print, the "darkness of the burn" varies with the wood on the actual board. It is a natural difference in wood grain.
