“Yes, it is an older ship that has been retrofitted and may not meet everyone's expectations of a contemporary yacht. That being said it is a wonderful ship with timeliness and character newer yachts will never have. I simply loved her and thought the crew was very welcoming and attentive. Of special note were the fantastic meals served daily, fresh tasty and presented wonderfully.”

Hello Jim, Thank you for your review and we're glad to hear you loved the Grace as your home and adventure center during your week in the Galapagos. Every two years, Quasar completely updates its yachts during dry docks so our guests get to experience renewed classic vessels. We do these updates while always maintaining that classic yacht romance and that very unique charm that, as you pointed out, newer yachts will never have. This adds a very special touch to our Galapagos adventures and our Guests never fail to mention this to our onboard staff at the end of their trips. This Fall (2022) Quasar is drydocking the Grace, replacing her engines and completely updating her interior with new bathrooms, floors, ceilings, new beds, etc. This will be done by one of Chile's finest interior designers. In short, she will be a totally renewed historic vessel that, in practical terms, is entirely new yet still maintains that unique feeling of having once been the Royal Yacht of Monaco. “Almost everything re the Grace yatch was amazing. However I think that the pricing of alcoholic beverages on-board was simply ridiculous.”

“Everything was wonderful! the crew were fabulous, the boat was luxurious, the food was delicious, as were the cocktails! and the wonderful towel creations on our beds! And finally the guides were brilliant! What more can one ask for?”

“She is a very special vessel with a wonderful story to tell. She like anyone her age needs some TLC I understand that this will be taking place in the near future. I would be most disappointed if she lost her wonderful charm in the process. Remember who she is and show respect she shouldn't be made into just another cruise yacht”
