“I bought this for commuting on my bike without changing to flat pedals. The boot is comfortable and stylish and gives you lots of toe protection for the occasional work site/ warehouse visit.
My only issue with the boots (Chelsea boots in general) is that there are no laces to tighten the fit. I usually wear an EU42, but I find it too loose-fitting, especially around the ankle. The toe box fits my very regular EU42 feet. The toe box will be too tight if I go one size smaller.
I added a thicker insole from my collection of spare insoles from my other boots. Not everyone will have a spare insole lying around, so be prepared to fork out for some 'Superfeet' insoles with added ankle support.
I would still recommend the boot, but from my experience, it's not the type of boot that's comfortable out of the box. You will need to break them in and possibly change out the insole.
As a cycling shoe, it's not anything to write home about. The sole is plenty stiff, but you can't expect this to outperform a proper SPD MTB shoe designed specifically for that purpose.”
