“A few months ago, I swapped my flat pedals and Adidas Five Ten shoes for SPD pedals with Shimano SH56 cleats and the Quoc Gran Tourer II. I ride about 400 km a month in mixed terrain – forest climbs, rocky descents, muddy trails. The switch changed a lot. The Gran Tourer II feels planted and efficient. Power transfer on climbs is excellent, and the confidence on descents is on a different level. I was surprised how natural the transition felt - the multi-directional release of the SH56 cleats made it intuitive from day one. Comfort is another strong point. The stiffness-to-flex balance is perfect: firm for pedaling, yet forgiving enough to walk or push the bike uphill (hike-a-bike on 20% grades is no problem). The single dial closure works well, though I sometimes tweak it mid-ride for the perfect tension. After months of use in mud, sand, and rain, the shoes still look almost new. The upper is impressively durable and even fairly water-resistant from above. The only real downside is the lack of proper sealing under the cleat plate - water and grit can creep in, which feels out of place in a shoe this premium. Aside from that, the Gran Tourer II hits a rare balance: performance, comfort, and style in one package. If Quoc ever decides to fix the sealing issue under the cleat plate, this shoe would be close to perfect.”

“Good and comfortable shoes (Gravel escape)! A little loose around the heel but I really don't notice it. Rode 110 miles the other day and they felt pretty good the whole time.”

“Bought Quoc Weekends, looking really good, fit is ok, even with my wider feet. Only critique would be toe box a bit shallow, especially with thicker socks. But all in all happy with my purchase.”

“I love my grand tourer cycling shoes, I have 3 pairs!! They are soo soo comfty. I have wider flat feet so all cycling shoes are uncomfortable for me, but these ones are amazing, my feet never get fatigued. My only complaint would be they always run out of the popular sizes and don’t really restock which is disappointing when I have tried to get specific colour ways. But tbf I do not need anymore 😁 for reference my first pair, I was wearing for over 3 years and the are still in great condition! Really well made! Keep up the good work all at QUOC!!”

“The shoes seem nice, but the sizing is off. After measuring my foot, I bought a pair of discount/ archived Gran Tourer Laces. I have a fairly wide foot so I thought ordering one size up coupled with Quoc’s reputation as having a wider toe box would result in a perfect fit. To my disappointment they were too tight. Now, I have a pair of brand new (never used) shoes that don’t fit. Given that the shoes are archived they are non- returnable. The suggestion on the website is to sell them locally. Even by reducing the price over $50 from what I paid and several weeks later I have not had a single bit of interest. I don’t mind paying a “stupid tax” but this stupid tax is extreme and very disappointing. I won’t try Quoc again.”

“I have already provided a review for the Quick Escape Roads, but I have received another invite to place a further review. Since the last review, the shoes have not been worn, but they have been moved from the show shelves near the front door into the storage cupboard, and upon doing that, I noticed that the left heel protector had fallen off. Poor design with the single boa. And poor craftsmanship, it seems.”

“It would be nice to a feedback loop. There was a way for me, the customer, to submit a ticket but not a way to update the ticket. I just had to wait to hear back, which I get to an extent but it would be nice to get regular updates.”

“What should I say? Crashed 10km into the ride. Definitely not the shoes fault. They look great on and off the bike (standing next to it or lying on the ground) and are comfortable and stiff enough. They have a few scratches now - this gives them a slightly used look. Would definitely recommend. 5 out of 5 Stars.”
