I’ve been using my Ratio Eight since it first came out around 2014-15 and love the coffee it creates! I want to share a couple of things I’ve discovered to make the coffee even better. Use a chop stick to reach in and stir your grounds during the bloom pause in the brewing cycle. Just a few seconds of stirring assures every ground is wet. Secondly for the users who say their coffee isn’t hot enough, get the stainless steel carafe! I ALWAYS first fill the Ratio Eight with about two 12 oz cups tap water and install my paper filter so the filter, basket and carafe gets hot. I don’t pour that water out until I’ve filled the basket with the ground beans, then pour out the hot water and put the basket with ground on the carafe and start brewing. I’ve measured the temp of my first cup of coffee and even with the cold half and half the cup has registered anywhere from 155 to 160 degrees Fahrenheit…equivalent to the Technivorm Moccamaster. Pre heat everything!!!
