I have had my Ratio 8 (made of aluminum, wood, and a glass water reservoir) for +4 years and absolutely love it, but felt the need to downsize since I only drink 1-2 cups of coffee a day. When the Ratio 4 came out on Kickstarter with an unbeatable price, I had to get my hands on it in hopes I could replace my Ratio 8. My first thoughts upon opening the Ratio 4, was that I must've missed the fact that aside from the adorable glass carafe, it is made of all plastic, which I am weary of. The other unusual change is having the start button above the filter basket, which I have accidently pressed more often than not as much as I have attempted to avoid doing so. However, do not be fooled as it still brews an amazing cup of coffee and is much easier to cleanup! Ultimately I decided to make the Four a work-office coffee machine as opposed to a home one, because the quality and natural materials of my Ratio 8 is far more luxurious and perhaps unbeatable. I will forever give Ratio Coffee 5-Stars as I love their products, designs, and committment to making the best minimalistic coffee machines.

Amazingly good coffee with flexibility. Perfect for small batches or the quick single cup. Love that you can use your own dripper if you prefer that. Cups are always delicious!

The wait is finally over and well worth it! I saw the demo at the SCA in Portland and was chopping at the bit to get one. The size is perfect. My first cup was outstanding, very smooth and balanced. I used a bright Kenya, and I was able to taste some fruit notes and plenty of clarity. I did a side-by-side comparison with the Fellow Aiden, and I found the Ratio 4 to be the better-tasting cup. I prefer not to deal with settings. I highly recommend this brewer. You get the benefit of a pour-over without the hassle of timing, and it has the built-in bloom feature. It does it all for you. I can now retire my Ratio 6 since it is larger than my needs. I have tried it with Kalita Wave, Hario Mugan, Hario V60, and Hario Switch. They all work!

Received my Ratio Four after pledging for it on Kickstarter. The cups of coffee it's made so far are divine! The bloom cycle really lets the taste of coffee pop out. The size of the machine is compact and its design is sleek, elegant. It's in perfect time for the winter when I plan on hunkering down at home, away from the cold and getting some work done.

The coffee machine has been a fun addition to our kitchen. We already have the Ratio 8 and use it as our daily driver if you will. This one comes out any time that we need one more cup later in the day. The coffee brews quickly and tastes great. I've not been able to use the Hario V60 2 since it's 1/4" too large to fit with the included pot (or our usual coffee cups.) While it would technically fit in the space, there isn't enough room to actually get them INTO the machine. As such, I would need to order a smaller size, or brew into a much smaller cup. That and our lack of counter space to have both brewers out at all times are my only complaints.
