“This is my third lid. The lid has a defect with the teflon stopper in that if the thumb press is pressed too hard, it becomes dislodged from whatever shaft it is secured to. It then becomes ineffective and fairly useless. I do appreciate the Customer Service that Ratio provides in replacing the lid!”
“I have been using the new lid for a few weeks now and it not any better than the the original one. Still lots of dripping and messy pouring. The only plus is the plug in the middle of the lid has not fallen out yet, like it the original did. Once it falls out, I have found it impossible to reinsert it correctly so it doesn't fall out into the coffee in the carafe. Ratio, we love the coffee maker, and really hope there is a redesign in the works for the carafe + lid as it would complete the perfect coffee experience if this worked better.”
“You guys, the coffee that comes out of the Ratio 6 is so, so good for a machine. It approaches pour over/aeropress quality. But that carafe is a hot mess. I can’t knock it for its thermal insulation, but its poor pouring performance is really souring my experience with the Ratio 6. Simultaneously over and under-engineered, the carafe leaves a mess on the counter, the side of my mug, and drips down the carafe no matter how careful you are while pouring. And a lot of coffee is retained in the carafe after no more will pour out. I wish I could recommend this to friends without caveats, but unfortunately that carafe and its lid keep me from that. I would happily pay (at a discount of course) for a newly designed carafe that addressed these issues if one were to become available.”
“I continue to be extremely unimpressed with the carafe lid. The replacement works better than the original (for now), but it’s still a lousy design—coffee splats out rather than flows out. I just can’t understand how such a thoughtfully designed machine had such a terribly designed carafe lid. If there were an alternative, I would love to see it, but considering that this design remains unchanged for several years now, I’m guessing that they’ve given up on it.”
