“We have both a Ratio8 & Ratio4 new in their sealed boxes-why, b/c we just haven’t gotten around to using them choosing to not substitute out our much beloved Ratio 6!
Literally, over the last 3 years, nearly everyday, using our R6 we’ve prepared minimally one, and at times 2 or 3 batches of coffee.
We like that the R6 has a R8 heater so the coffee is always of hot-hot temperature!
We avoid cross contamination of the R6 reservoir by using the Ratio8 glass carafe for filling the R6 reservoir. Our original R6 Thermal carafe is still working perfectly, but has since been updated slightly by Ratio, in ‘functional design’—yet we honestly would say we still prefer the original R6 Thermal carafe, it has a cleaner pour from start to last carafe drop of coffee.
Definitely recommend, if one is going to try a Ratio— make it a R6!”
