“My brother-in-law and I were able to enjoy a couple of cups of coffee together before he had to go back home. We used the same coffee and the same quantity of coffee and water that we used during the rest of the week with my old coffeemaker and oh man what a difference! “We finally received it. It is everything you said it would be and more. While the coffee is important the esthetics are outstanding and as some have said it is a "work of Art" to be displayed. My wife was lamenting the fact the coffee table in our den did not have an electrical outlet.
I hope you are successful in your pursuit of the cork stopper as after watching your video again, the 8 really demands the cork vs the black rubber stopper. Please keep us updated on that front. “Now that I've used my Ratio for a while, I thought I'd share my impressions.
It's a great machine......very sculptural, great quality of construction, etc.
Compared with my standard Technivorm, the brew is smoother, and clearly less bitter (I didn't think I was brewing bitter coffee, but by comparison, yes). Depth of flavor is wonderful. Kind of reminds me of the difference between Starbuck's espresso and a shot pulled at home by an afficionado, on a premium machine, using outstanding beans.
I'm very happy with it overall.
My only criticism is that it's noisy (a minor issue), and doesn't have a thermos carafe (coming, I know).
All in all, the Ratio is a hit!
