WaterRower Classic Rowing Machine The WaterRower Classic Rowing Machine with S4 Performance Monitor is handcrafted in beautiful Black Walnut Wood. Black Walnut, like all woods used in WaterRower rowing machine construction, is a premium hardwood with incredible longevity and dimensional stability. Each machine has been hand finished with Danish Oil and Urethane for added protection. Rowing is one of the best exercises for giving you a full body workout by incorporating every muscle group in the body. In terms of burning calories rowing is one of the exercises that burns the most calories because you are using every muscle in your body. As opposed to most rowing machines which have wind resistance, the waterpower machines use water as resistance, giving you the most accurate and quietest rowing machine on the market today. If you are looking for a full body workout that is enjoyable and easy to do, then look no further than the WaterRower Classic Walnut Rowing Machine.  The Ultimate Water Rower Rowing ranks among the most efficient sports in terms of conditioning strength and endurance, by spreading work over a wide range of muscles. A well-performed rowing stroke will engage 84% of the body’s muscle mass- from your hands holding onto oars, to your feet pushing off in the boat, and all the muscles in between. The WaterRower is unrivaled in benefits derived per unit of time. Training on other common aerobic exercise equipment such as treadmills, cycles or ellipticals utilize far less muscle mass and burn fewer calories, generating less overall exercise benefits. Rowing promotes functional muscle fitness. Users will experience enhanced muscle durability, resilience and performance, all contributing to optimal body posture. Rowing is the best exercise for arthritis, moving the joints through a full range of motion with minimal impact and body weight on the joints. Rowing machine exercise is a guaranteed balance of strength and endurance demands on the body, making it the perfect workout for today’s busy schedules. Users will further be invigorated by the WaterRower’s unique blend of wood, moving water and rhythm experienced with each stroke. Sensory satisfaction guaranteed! If I knew then, what I know now about WaterRower, would I order the machine again? No, probably not. My impression was that WaterRower was supposed to be the Aston Martin of rowing machines. If the ubiquitous Concept2 is a Honda, then I would say WaterRower is maybe an Acura. Mine was about 6 weeks late, and it was practically impossible to get any detailed, helpful information out of WaterRower. It's easy enough to set up, but mine had (has) problems. First, the fill hole is directly under a wood plank, so very difficult to get to. Why WaterRower can't put the fill hole on top of the tank is beyond me. The foot plate are surprisingly close together. Your feet are almost side-by-side. When I assembled my rower, filled it, and gave it a go, the paddle was hitting the inside of the tank. Consulting WaterRower's website, they have a whole sub-site dedicated to this and what to do. If it is this much of a known problem, how about you redesign your rower to eliminate the problem? The first suggestion is to take your newly assembled rower apart and put it back together again. Somehow, this will magically cause the paddle to "settle" into place. Except it doesn't. The second suggestion is to loosen certain screws to allow the paddle assembly to move into the correct position. If you do this, and shake the rower to death, it seems the paddle might move a little. The third suggestion is to shim up the bottom of the tank to give the paddle some extra room. If all of these suggestions sound really weak and janky, they are. A $1500+ machine simply should not have problems like this. As before, an email from a manager at WaterRower said they do not warrant or guarantee anything. So if your rower has problems, just be aware that WaterRower will do nothing to help. The last thing to say is that it comes with 2 water purification tablets for the tank. I used one tablet when I filled the rower, so I went ahead and requested additional tablets from their website. Almost a month later, I received an acknowledgement back saying that they had received my request and more tablets would be sent in another 7-10 days. Really? It took a month just to receive my request and another 10 days to send out a few more tablets? This is nowhere near the level of service I expect for a $1500+ machine. If you're interested in getting your money's worth, look at a Viking rower. I can't speak to their build quality, but as I said, if I knew then what I know now about WaterRower, I'm pretty sure I would take my money elsewhere.
