“Good Product. Delivery, not so much
The gate and post I ordered arrived and looks to be off good quality and well put together (it's yet to be installed). It should meet my requirements perfectly.
However, there were no delivery updated by email, text or phone prior to its arrival meaning that I wasn't at home when delivery took place.
My mother in law was there when the delivery arrived, and the driver expected her to give him a lift with the 12ft gate and 8ft gate post! If assisting the delivery driver was to be a condition of the delivery, it should have been stated at time of purchase. Luckily, my father in law arrived back and was able to help.
This situation could have been avoided by two means;
1. Suitable communication of the delivery (as stipulated on the website when ordering, so add to enable me to be there to accept the order and assist if necessary.
2. Don't send large items that require a 2-man lift with a single delivery driver and expect assistance at point of delivery (although i have subsequently moved both the gate and the post single handedly without to much difficulty).
I guess this is to be expected when delivery is 'free '”
