Great bag. Thoughtful pockets, and the construction quality seems slick. The hydration pocket fits an Osprey Hydraulics 3L bladder, however the suspension clips don’t quite fit the narrow spaces on the bladder. Comfortable on short run arounds so far. It’s still a substantial size when packed down, but it’s easily twisted into its little stuff sack.

Thanks for the detailed review! Glad you’re loving the design and comfort so far. Appreciate the feedback on the hydration pocket, we’ll share that to the brand for improvement. Cheers!

Lightweight, good size pockets, hydration compatable, folds down small for storage. This is now my "go to" day pack when travelling.

I researched this extensively before buying! I wanted a packable backpack for day walking/hiking when I'm travelling but one with a hip belt not a waist belt. I'm 179cm and this pack fits really well across my hips. I loaded it with 6kg today ( loads of space to add more!) and went for a longish walk and it was surprisingly comfortable on my shoulders. I have lymphedema in one arm and comfort is a major factor in any lightweight style pack. Although it is 28L, the pack looks very compact on my back unlike an ordinary pack of that size It is easy to twist and compress into its bag too. Overall, pleasantly surprised and I will use it regularly at home, not just overseas.

Hi! Thank you very much for sharing your experience! It’s great to hear that the backpack not only fits well across your hips but also provides comfort, especially with your lymphedema. Your insight about its compact appearance despite the 28L capacity and ease of packing is super helpful to other customers. We’re very glad it exceeded your expectations for both travel and everyday use! Enjoy your new gear and safe travels!

Hey Matthew! That's great to hear! Thanks for sharing your feedback. It sounds like the Matador Beast28 Ultralight Technical Backpack worked wonderfully for your travels in Africa and the Middle East. Keeping dust out and having the separate Matador hydration bag were definitely beneficial features. It's good to know that it's lightweight and durable as well. Your review is much appreciated! Safe travels! - Kez

This is a great pack, only wished I knew the price was gonna drop by $60 two days after I paid $300. It was overpriced but it well made & very comfortable on the body.
