“I've bought this bag because I wanted something rugged, water resistant, stain proof and deceptively large. I've had a Tatonka 45L for ages, which is a work horse - but the colours are sometimes a bit much and make it look bigger. Whereas this Northface is 5L bigger, but honestly it looks smaller (which is actually a bonus when travelling!)
So, It looks great straight away and has heaps of rugged handles. The zippers are smooth with nice toggles to grip. Inside, there is only 1 mesh pocket, in the barrel opening flap - so you need to have travel with cubes if you want to organise.
My only con, is the backpack straps. While they are easily detachable (completely), they aren't nearly as comfortable as the Tatonka straps are. They twist a bit too. I'm sure I'll get used to it, but this might be a catch for some people.
But I've already bought another one of these because I like it so much.”
