“The projectile in these rounds is the 30gr version of Barnes Varmint Grenade, as noted by the packaging on the case. 1900 FPS out of a pistol for a 30gr load is light- these have the same feel as shooting the 40gr FMJ loaded by Fiocchi, with a PoI slightly higher at 7 yards. I don't have a setup where I can test ballistics, but I'd be willing to bet you can get better results by loading cartridges yourself hotter than these, potentially with the 36gr version of the bullet. Or buying another self-defense load. These are cheaper than full-powered loads and they land pretty close to range loads with about the same grouping at least. Would give these 3.5/5 vs the 4 stars listed until I see a ballistics gel test.”
