“For starters, I should say that I’m writing this review in December, so looks are closed and I’m using this as a bath towel.
I bought this because I’m 6’2”,’and I wanted a towel big enough for my height.
First impressions: the he towel seems to be well made and sturdy, time will tell if it stays together or wears easily. It has a nice feel to it, not too soft, not rigid and rough. I am not a fan of the tassels, but it’s what it is. The ads are correct, it’s a large towels and folds/rolls down to a size that is smaller than my typical bath towel. That’s a plus.
After using it a few times (shower towel) I can’t say that I’m impressed with it. It is definitely not as absorbent as a standard terry cloth towel. I find that I have to spend more time drying off because the towel doesn’t absorb as well as my other bath/beach towels. This was very disappointing, considering the advertisements sell it as being more absorbent than a standard towel. Considering the price, if I’d have known this I probably wouldn’t have purchased the towel.
The fabric and weave seems like it would be better suited for a light blanket, or even a winter scarf, but not a towel. Like I said, it seems pretty sturdy for a cloth, but I’m not sure it’s what a towel should be. I’ve looked at their actual bath towels (the ones with differently textured sides) and they look like they might be better suited to absorbing water, but they his one was sold as a beach towel, so I don’t know why it doesn’t work as well as advertised.
Overall it might be ok for a pool towel when it’s hot outside and the sun will help to dry off, but for a shower towel it is definitely disappointing. I’d say it’s mediochre at best, and for the price it should be a lot better
