“The jacket is excellent, well designed and full of features. I found it to be incredibly warm and will definitely be looking to order more from Shackleton in the future. I did originally order a size above (Medium and Id usually be a medium/large) and found it to be big on the sizing but the exchange process was excellent.”

What activity did you use the product for? every day use as it is still winter

What weather and temperatures did you experience? cold and icy winds

Are there any developments we could make? non ,but i would still recommend this parka but your quality control needs to be re assessed as the fault would instantly show up as soon as the synch cords were to be used

“I have purchased this Parka and I am not happy with quality control as the synch waist draw cords wer frayed and vulnerable to breakin point ,so i have returned it and I am waiting for a replacement,but you have sent it to be repaird, But i did expect an instant replacement as this was of no fault of mine and the fault should have been spotted by quality control before being sent out to me”

I understand that we were unable to offer a replacement as we are out of stock in that colour and size so a repair was the only option but this is now on it's way back to you

What activity did you use the product for? I’m an artist/landscape photographer and image maker. I spend long hours standing around on mountains shooting this, that, and the other.

What weather and temperatures did you experience? Cold mountain conditions with high wind, above 800 meters. Minus 4 degrees, going down to minus 16 with windchill. And also very wet conditions where you feel like a swimming pool is being thrown at you.

What do you like about the product? I like it’s high quality. The company clearly make more effort than most with design. The company make high quality clothes that make you feel safe, and yet you don’t look like a geography teacher from the 80s whilst wearing it. It’s just really high end

Are there any developments we could make? I’ve mentioned possible small developments in other Shackleton purchases. But not this one. It’s a near perfect coat for certain conditions. Only developments I could selfishly suggest is don’t become Canada goose and become a luxury brand. Your products

How did you come across Shackleton? By research on google. You came up pretty fast.

“I’ve used the parka three times in winter conditions at heights over 800meters. The 1st two times were very cold an very windy. Standing around on mountains shooting time lapse photography. The parka was truly excellent. To the point where you think you would feel warm and protected on another planet !! The 3rd time was heavy wind and driving rain and moisture. This definitely tested the parka’s limits in wet conditions. I was out for 6 hours in terrible conditions. The parka kept me warm throughout. By the 6th hour the sleeves of the parka did begin to get heavier as there was so much water. And a degree of absorption. Making my way down the mountain I was actually a bit worried the parka had been compromised. When I got back to the car and changed I was expecting wet under layers, but there were non. I was absolutely soaking on the outside. But dry on the inside. The parka is a really incredible piece of kit, but in wet conditions, it does have limits. Not sure I would have liked to test in any longer, although for what is essentially a soft shell type of material the performance is truly excellent. Because as I’ve stated already the wet conditions we’re truly horrific. As an overview of the parka itself, the design is brilliant. Very well conceived and thought out. The materials feel high quality. I’ve spent similar amounts of money on coats many times over the last 20 years, and this coat really stands as the best technically, and being well worth the money.”
