How did you come across Shackleton? Referral from a friend, an ex-employee
Excellent quality product clearly made with the finest materials and attention to detail. The sweater is very comfortable to wear and performs as expected, warm but without ever feeling clammy. I am always very cautious about wool as I can find it irritating, however the sweater is extremely soft without any discomfort even around the neck. The sizing worked well for me using the Shackleton sizing guide - I have a medium (I am 42" but often I fall between M&L) which is a snug fit but not tight or restrictive and quite flattering! It's not cheap.. but I guess you get what you pay for.

How did you come across Shackleton? see my comments above
visited the Ross Sea (Antarctica) recently and a naturalist wore a sweater I really liked. Found out that it's a Shackleton sweater that he had gotten as a gift from a former passenger. My research showed that I could buy one from you and we had an exchange about a size that would fit me. Shackleton became my hero after a trip from Ushuaia to So. Georgia that was designed around his exploration. At the Ross Sea I visited his hut that was preserved from the Nimrod expedition. A simply awesome experience!!

My second of these - I've another in grey, which indicates I'm a fan! It's a good chunky jumper with excellent detailing - tunic length (so a bit longer than standard) with side splits in the hem, ribbed roll neck collar and cuffs, and a chequerboard detailing in the shoulders. And a cool label with the Shackleton star and a quote from Ernest on it (I'll let you read your own) . The wool is soft, not scratchy despite being heavy duty, sort of like a merino, but heavier. Fine next to the skin with just a t-shirt underneath. I washed the first one (20 degree machine wool cycle with a wool specific detergent) and it came out fine - I checked before buying the second one. It's absolutely a cold weather jumper. As the temp has pushed up in recent weeks it'll soon be relegated to the back of the wardrobe until November. But it definitely a long-term keeper of a jumper that will last long term, both style-wise and quality as well. Good stuff.
