What activity did you use the product for? Winter skiing with sled. XC skiing. Randonne.
What weather and temperatures did you experience? -10 to -5 degrees Celsius. Wind. Snowy and bluebird condition.
Are there any developments we could make? Better shape retention. Slightly longer arms and body. Stronger stitching. A seam came loose around neck hem. Needs to handle “machine wash wool programme” for this type of garment. Have several baselayers made in US,UK and china (unfortunately) which handles woolProgramme well.
In the event that we would like to discuss these answers with you further, are you happy for a member of the Shackleton team to get in touch? Yes
How did you come across Shackleton? Trip to London and a fan of polar explorers
Nice 100%wool sweather for underwear and middle layer use. Slightly slimfit and nice as underwear, buy stretches after use and also works nice as a versatile sweater. Could be a bit longer arms and more shape retention. Lower hem curls up in use. Very comfortable for outdoor use and sweaty activities. Just used as base layer in a tented winter trip last week in Norwegian mountains. Warms when wet, dries up nicely. Did not have to change to dry clothes even though sweaty during day pulling sled and dry and comfy after putting up tent and for camp life and sleeping. Forgot my base layer and that’s ia good testament. Impressed.

How did you come across Shackleton? Bought items from Shackleton for several years now.
Bought this after having had different base layers of different brands over the years. First time I’ve had a merino wool one though - really pleased with it. Very soft and comfy, no itchy bits and sweat doesn’t build up - dries quickly and without any sweaty odour. Nice fit due to ribbed panels at side and hems on cuffs and waist. Well worth the price - feels like it’ll last a long time.

I have multiple Nelsons. I wear them as a base layer for running, skiing and expeditions, always performs brilliantly. Can’t fault it.
