We are sorry you feel this way. Please note that the Vent automatically opens and closes based upon the interior temperature. The heat-sensitive bimetallic spring begins to open the vent at 74 degrees, fully opened at 104 degrees. We would like to help resolve your issue. “The AutoVent Automatic Shelter Vent Kit itself is a good product, they look good and look as if they will stay in place for the lifetime of the shelter. However, the directions for installation of the vents could use revision. The installer is required to make holes in the fabric to insert the plastic tabs that hold the vent in place. The directions do not accurately indicate the size of the holes required, and only depict a punch or awl, but the holes need to be bigger than depicted. In addtion, the pastic tabs are difficult for one or even 2 people to put in place until you figure out exactly how that are designed and intended for installation and use: the directiosn should include more information on how these are to be installed. Lastly, I believe the vent(s) should always be in the open position for proper ventilation of the shelter instead of opening gradually as the inside temperature of the shelter increases.”
