I had bought a carport, and the same ShelterTube a few years ago, same size but slightly taller, so I knew what to expect. What I DIDN'T expect was the design had been downgraded. The upper stabilizing connectors were no longer 2x2 square tubes that bolted onto the existing holes in the frame. They are Very different now, 1 inch tubes that screw into the frame, and leave the positioning to guesswork from the diagram. Also one of the lower tubes that Tension the cover was too long and had to be cut almost a 1/2" to fit. After being satisfied with my first purchases, I was somewhat disappointed by my most recent.

With a bit of thought, planning, and the intelligent use of clamps, almost all of the construction can be done by a single person. The only steps that I couldn't do alone were setting the pre-assembled roof rafter bows on the wall studs, and pulling the cover across the finished frame. Even pulling the cover might have been done solo, since I was using lengths of slip-fit greenhouse structural pipe to temporarily stabilize the pulled edge, but having a second person to help was the more cautious strategy. Customer support was responsive when I called them, but were not willing to sell me additional purlin members. I live in an area subject to high snow loads, and wanted to add another row of purlins between the ridge and the bend between the rafters and the studs. CS told me that any deviation from the documented assembly procedure would invalidate the warranty. I'm sure that I will be forced to make some modifications eventually: the zipper closure for the end wall roll-up door is certainly not going to survive daily opening and closing across the years that I hope the garage will last.
