On a recommendation of a physical therapist I purchased this pedaler for my mother. She loves the pedaler, but...While the assembly instructions are relatively straightforward, they could be written in much clearer English. Also, it is not clear which side of the pedaler is ‘right' and which side is ‘left'. The picture associated with the attachment of the pedals shows the pedaler positioned in one direction, but the picture associated with using the pedaler shows the pedaler positioned in the opposite direction. So which side is ‘right' and which side is ‘left'?Following the directions as written, the pedals attach easily and can be hand tightened using the provided tool. After using the pedaler for several days, the pedals loosen and eventually fall off. This has happened multiple times. The pedals have to be installed correctly, because they will not thread correctly if switched to the opposite sides. On carpet the pedaler has to be attached to a chair using the included belt otherwise it easily slides away. The tension of the pedaler can be adjusted using the black knob, but the knob has to be turned more times than you would expect before tension is changed. Also, the tension knob and the display are located on the opposite side of the pedaler when in use based on the instructions sheet and this makes no sense to me.I'm hoping there is a way to remedy the assembly/usage issues because this could be a very good product to provide people exercise during this time of COVID restrictions in Assisted Living facilities.

when i first got this exerciser, i was totally happy with it! everything worked great on it- the resistance wheel, the counter, super-quiet. for about a week i couldn't have been happier with it. but after that, the tension belt began to get loose. i found myself tightening the wheel more and more every time i used it. after a month, it finally gave out. i'm giving it three stars as i probably used it far more than it was designed for (i did 60 minutes on it every day for a month) but it's important for anyone thinking about getting this- it does NOT seem to be designed for use every day. the resistance is controlled by a nylon strap around a plastic flywheel inside. the more you use it, the more the plastic flywheel is overheated and worn/molten down. seems to be made for occasional, casual use.

For the money, it's a good little machine. It works better if it is put on carpet or a rug.

This arm bike is best used for shoulder rehab. The resistance knob doesn't work well but for initial rehabilitation it works great for a single speed or two resistance levels rehab arm bike. Place on a table where shoulders can be depressed/relaxed and elbow joint around 90 degrees. It works both forwards and backwards and the digital timer is very helpful for setting up a training rehab program. Definitely worth the price and worked great. I didn't try it as a foot bike and it doesn't look like it would work well for that. This also would be useful for someone who wasn't able to move much with their lower body for maintaining some level of cardio and upper body mobility. I limited the arm bike to 5-10 minute segments with no more than 30 minutes per day. I plan on continuing to use it for shoulder warm-ups before surfing and swimming.
